About YVPS Nursery

Excellent care and education for children aged from two years

Our on-site school-led Nursery provides excellent care and education for children aged from two years, and is teacher led.

YVPS also offers a Nursery Plus provision, led by a teacher and two teaching assistants. Nursery Plus is a Devon educational outreach service which works with nursery-age children identified with additional or Special Educational Needs.  The Nursery delivers the first part of the Early Years Foundation Stage, which is continued through into the Reception class, providing progression matched to each child’s developmental stages from two to five years.

We are an inclusive and innovative school which endeavours to create an environment which fosters a love of learning and offers opportunities for children to work both collaboratively and independently to meet their full potential. Our Nursery strives to provide a wide range of opportunities and experiences to encourage our youngest children to develop their natural curiosity and thinking skills. In this way they will develop the foundations upon which they will continue to build throughout their school career and beyond.

Session Times

The Nursery sessions run from 9.00am to 12.00pm (Morning Session) and 1.15pm to 3.15pm (Afternoon Session.) The Nursery opens at 8.45am, for children to be dropped off, and closes at 3.15pm. Children attending a morning session only need to be collected at 12.00pm. Children attending an afternoon session, or all day, can be collected at 3.15pm.

Lunch

Lunch times are part of the education of the children as they teach them key social skills. We therefore allow for lunch to be eaten at the beginning of the afternoon session at 12.00pm. Alternatively your child can bring a packed lunch from home.

Charges

Our current rate is £3.75 per hour. This is charged for hours over and above Early Years Entitlement, Extended Entitlement and 2Gether funding and for non-funded children. You can check with www.gov.uk to see whether you are eligible to receive help with childcare costs, including the 2Gether scheme for two-year-olds.

How to Pay

Invoices for any unfunded hours are sent out at the beginning of every term. You can pay by cheque (made payable to Yeo Valley Primary School) or cash at main reception. We also accept employer’s childcare vouchers. Further details on how to pay are available by contacting the school office.
